A Day at the Creekbank
Building a dam with Grandmom, Aunt Judy, and all the boys

…worked so hard year after year to grow grass on a lawn that has never grown grass. (Word on the street is that previous owners, and the previous owners before that, and the previous owners before that cried over the seemingly impossible task.) Now, after every exhausted effort, I present a beautiful, lush, strong lawn.
“A slothful loiterer in a religious house, under pretence of sanctity and austerity. Compounded of abbey and Danish lubbed, fat.”
Note to self: don’t be this.

So, after reading Nursery Rhymes over and over again for three years, today was the day when Vivienne asked that niggling question that lurks in the back of all of our minds, “Why does she live in a shoe?!”

Day 3: “What True Love Looks Like”
(Who knew I’d find my *favorite* shirt in the ironing basket?!)
(And, nothing beats listening to “How to Be a Better Wife”-ish teachings while totally setting your husband up with a slew of freshly pressed shirts. Even the convicting parts of the lesson are palatable then.)
Last week, Vivienne was happily wearing her well-loved size 6 sneakers. Today, I disbelievingly moved her foot from one size to the next on Target’s shoe size chart. She weighed in with a size 8. Please don’t report me to the SPCA for children! I’m sure it happened overnight.

We returned late Saturday night from a beautifully weathered-week in Ocean City, NJ. Some highlights of the holiday away:
1. Lewis: Our First Annual Hermit Crab.
(Sure, he died four days into the week, but he left behind many snappy memories. V wasn’t too torn up upon his passing. In fact, I think she pronounced something like, “Lewis is OFFICIALLY DEAD!”)

2. Hanging out with Ali.

3. The waves. The wonders.

4. Emmy and Christy

5. The 34th Street Sand Castle Playground

6. The Boardwalk Rides: Everybody has a favorite

7. A Photo Shoot at Sundown

(That’s Lia’s Great-Great- Uncle Bill in the background!)

8. Erin’s 27th Birthday!

9. A Surrey Ride
