Comparative Lit. Course

This is a course that I designed and am teaching as a single-student course for Grace Prep High School. The mentor relationship works well for this course as it is focused on female identity expressed through 19th and 21st Century literature and culture.

How it works for us: The young woman comes to my home once a week; we work together as I get lunch for my little ones and help them play quietly. In addition to maturing in engaging and challenging discussions and writing assignments, the young woman has changed a diaper, fed a baby, and translated her complex texts into picture books that appeal to my preschooler. Her education is bound to be well-rounded here!
