2010 Homemade Christmas

LauraAll Posts, Arts and Crafts

(SPOILER ALERT! If you are a close relative who may receive a homemade Christmas gift from us this year, stop reading now!)

We’ve stocked up on salt and Cream of Tartar to make little containers of Sugar Cookie Play-dough for our friends and relatives this year. We’ll accessorize each tub with a homemade rolling pin and a small cookie cutter.

1. Make Sugar Cookie Play-dough with the BEST RECIPE IN THE WORLD:

1 c. flour

1/2 cup salt

1 T. cooking oil

1 T. cream of tartar

1 c. water

Add lots and lots of cinnamon and nutmeg. (YUMMO.)

(Find extra tips at My Montessori Journey)

2. Score inexpensive plastic containers and cookie cutters (we’re still on the look-out for those).

3. Purchase 1′ dowl rods. Cut into 6-inch rolling pins. Sand corners.

4. Assemble! (Finished product still in the works…)

But, wow. I’m so excited about this project! It promises sensory Christmas fun for all ages!
