“Mom, is she beautiful??”
In anticipation of questions like this, I memorized this poem:
Beautiful faces are they that wear
The light of a pleasant spirit there.
Beautiful hands are they that do
Deeds that are noble, good, and true.
Beautiful feet are they that go
Swiftly to ease another’s woe.
I say this little rhyme to Lia as I tickle her face, clap her hands, and make her feet jog up and down. Then, of course, I tickle her like crazy afterwords. Viv gets in on the fun, too (once she understood the definition of “woe” that is).
I dare you to memorize it this week. It’s catchy!
1 Samuel 16:7 Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.

I just experienced a God moment! I literally just finished my sermon for Sunday then went to your blog to get a smile from your girls….. the poem you posted about beautiful faces fits perfectly with the sermon from Matthew 22:15-22. May I use it on Sunday?
oh, amazing, Kari! Sure, use it! 🙂
Great poem – I will have to memorize it. I taught Ella a while ago 1 Peter 3:3,4 and she loves it! Although everytime I ask her where beauty begins (the heart) she says, the head! I guess I can work with that!
