You CAN expect something beautiful in motherhood.
But may I shoot straight with you for just a minute? You can’t expect that beauty to come from:
- mother culture
- the memories you make
- the atmosphere you create in your home
- the schedule you keep
- the photos you take
- or the endearing things your child says and does.
Of course, these things are beautiful and I hope you enjoy plenty of them, but the truth is we can’t count on them.
They differ from woman to woman, from child to child, season to season. They change in value. They slip through our fingers. And – as good as they may be – they’re not the best thing about motherhood.
The best thing about motherhood is that Jesus has made room for you right by his side and he is holding your little one close to his heart.
The reason you can expect something beautiful from motherhood is because Jesus is with you.
He is working through motherhood to show you more about himself and to help you become more like him.
Nothing could be better.
Nothing could be sweeter.
Nothing could be more practical, tangible, or strengthening.
And nothing could be more readily available to every woman who opens her hands to receive the gift.
This is the heart-and-soul of my first book, Expect Something Beautiful: Finding God’s Good Gifts in Motherhood.
It’s full of stories, practical advice, prayers, and life-changing scripture just for you.
It’s due to arrive on October 5, 2021 and I can hardly wait for you to read it!
You can pre-order a copy today.
I hope it strengthens you and every mom you know.
With lots of love,
