Happy Give-away: Brown Paper Packages Tied Up With String

For several days, our family will be out and about, enjoying our mothers’ mouth-watering tried-and-true Thanksgiving recipes. (Incidentally, I’ve really got to copy them down one of these days, but I’m dragging my feet for fear that I might be the one wrestling the turkey’s half-frozen neck out of its cadaver at 4 o’clock in the morning next Thanksgiving! I purport that it’s better to come an hour early and arrange the cheese and crackers platter.)

While I’m out of the office, I’d like to offer a

Darling December Give-away!

First, the inspiration: As stores everywhere push “play” on their Christmas Musak soundtracks, you’ll begin to hear shoppers mumbling/ singing, “raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens; bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens…” Name that tune? The Sound of Music’s “My Favorite Things”. (Let’s just hope I  don’t get one of the jazzy versions stuck in my head and privately try to belt out those sax riffs. I don’t know about you, but I find those flourishes hard to nail down! I’ve never impressed myself yet.)

And now, the give-away:

I’m offering to send one of my esteemed readers a brown paper package tied up with string that contains one of my favorite things: Alyssa’s Berry Sauce from our beloved and local Tait Farm.

Treat yourself to the chance of receiving a cozy little gift in the middle of December: it *might* just arrive on an afternoon when a friendly parcel is precisely what the doctor ordered.

1. Write a comment below, letting me know one of your “favorite things”.

2. To increase your chances 100%, let me know that you linked to this post from your own blog.

My favorite people will be drawing the winner at breakfast

on December 1st.

One of my favorite things is Cinnamon Raisin Peanut Butter from the Peanut Butter Co. They have other flavors but I haven’t ventured away from my beloved to try them. I asked my husband to order me a year’s worth for Mother’s Day last year and the jars lasted for just a few months!
    Thanks!

One of my favorite things is getting a good night’s sleep. I can’t remember the last time I slept through the night without having to nurse a baby or take care of a child coming to my room in the night. The berry sauce sounds delicious.

Oh woops, I forgot to tell you my favorite thing…

Warm coffee on a cold day while being curled up on my cozy couch in the wee early morning hours spending time with the Lord. Even though I’m not a morning person, these times are so refreshing and comforting.

Thank you again (I commented on your most recent post). I can’t wait to have some of this! Most likely I’ll save it for Christmas morning to have over pancakes that my hubby makes.

Nice to see that you’re from State College….I’m an hour or two east of you in Berks county. If you email me, I’ll send you my address (for security reasons I don’t want to post it here).
