Not Back-to-School Blog Hop: Curriculum Week

LauraMotherhood

To me (a self-confessed nerdy-book-loving teacher), a sweet aspect of homeschooling is the process of choosing curriculum and making plans, plans, plans! (That’s why I’ve been “homeschooling” for four years already and my oldest is only entering Kindergarten… She’s been a good sport.)

So, I am thrilled to join the excited homeschooling masses in the “Not Back-to School Blog Hop”. This week, we’re posting our curriculum ideas. So, here are our curriculum plans so far…

Kindergarten

Breakfast Books: Scripture, ABC Verses, Teach Them To Your Children, and (Lia’s FAVORITE) The Christian Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes

Circle Time: A beautiful idea from Kendra of “Preschoolers and Peace“. A time when we can pray together, learn Bible stories, work on memory work and character development, and begin our day well. Here’s a pdf of our September Circle Time plans: circle-time-september.

Reading and Writing: Phonics Museum (Veritas Press)

Math, Science, Field Trips, etc: Learning at Home (Ann Ward)

History: The Story of the World volume 1

Art: notimeforflashcards.com ABC crafts

Dance: KinderMoves (Tap & Ballet) at a fantastic dance academy

Read-aloud: Sonlight’s PreK and K read-aloud list, YWAM missionary stories
