During this Thanksgiving Week, our family will be focusing on Christians who – like the Pilgrims – are oppressed and silenced for the faith that they profess. This year, China is particularly on our hearts. My hope is that our hearts are stirred in prayer, faith, and gratitude.
Some of our plans are:
1. To send a hand-print turkey card and The Jesus Storybook Bible to Lydia, a little girl who was adopted from China. We’ll tell her how grateful we are that, in America, she can experience the freedom of worshiping Jesus wherever and whenever she desires.
2. To pray for China’s government, specifically its president, Hu Jintao.
3. Write a letter to a Chinese Christian prisoner through Prisoneralert.com (a ministry of The Voice of the Martyrs).
4. Enjoy some Chinese food together as we continue to pray for the Chinese Church to flourish!

Teachable Tuesday is designed to share teaching ideas that specifically connect a child’s heart with God’s. What are you teaching this Thanksgiving week?
