My friend, Lois, encourages wives to “Save the best smile of your day for your husband.”

In the same spirit, she says she asks herself, “What does my face look like to my children?”

I have found these simple truths to be life altering. When I smile genuinely at Ryan; when I let my eyes twinkle and my face light up as I speak with our daughters, my heart is relieved momentarily of its burdens and my family is mysteriously unified.
