One summer, I needed some gardening techniques when a critter nibbled our precious sweet corn before we had a chance to harvest it for our picnic. We were crushed. And we wanted to make sure it wouldn’t happen again. We had to defend our corn from our voracious enemy! But how? That’s when I heard Garth Brooks singing to my neighbor’s sweet corn at 5 o’clock in the morning, and I learned a thing or two about what it takes to bring in the harvest year after year.
